Alison Avis (Dance Tutor)

SADLY, ALISON NO LONGER TEACHES AT HURTWOOD HOUSE
Alison Trained at Rayleigh Dance College for three years on the performers and teachers course. She Graduated in 1993 having gained her dancing and teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern ISTD.
After college Alison embarked on a performing career, where she was lucky enough to perform around the world in various shows as a jazz dancer onboard cruise ships including Royal Caribbean and Costa.
Alison decided to move into teaching and choreography in 1996, she has taught in various dancing schools and choreographed for professional shows being performed in the Far East, as well as children’s musicals and variety shows.
Alison joined the dance department at Hurtwood in 2002, where she taught Jazz and Ballet. Since this time she has gone on to take her Licentiate in Ballet and now is a Ballet and Pointe work teacher for the school. Alison also takes students for private Ballet manly in preparation for auditions to Dance Colleges.
She also currently teaches Ballet at Guildford School of Acting on the Musical Theatre course and at Italia Conti, where she trains the students for professional Ballet examinations and Teaching examinations.
