Dance at Hurtwood

AS-LEVEL DANCE

Following last year's pilot scheme we are again offering AS Level Dance as an academic subject at Hurtwood House. This course will be for a select group of dancers and will be run by Matthew our Head of Dance alongside experienced A Level teacher Sam Lloyd.

"Striving to develop a vibrant, healthy and diverse community of students who experience dance in many styles whilst also providing a forum for gifted dancers to be exposed to a higher standard of training, preparing them for future professional

dance courses."

Dance is one of the fastest developing departments in the school. Matthew Atwell, Head of Dance, has the specific goal of exposing as many students to Dance as possible and is passionate about offering education and outlets for students to learn more about their physical, nutritional, health and fitness needs.

Under his leadership Hurtwood now draws a top team of current working professionals to nurture and inspire the students in classes, workshops and in our large scale productions. Students have gone on to study at Millenium, the Laban Centre, London Studio Centre, Arts Ed., Italia Conti & in New York and frequently can be seen dancing in the West End, on Broadway and on MTV.

Our newly developed purpose-built

dance studio offers the final ingredient

which makes the Hurtwood dance

department one of the finest in the

country.
