Dave comes to Hurtwood after many years working in the music industry and 15 years teaching and lecturing. As a musician and composer, he has recorded a number of albums and his engineering and production credits include projects for the BBC and Channel 4.
In 1994 Dave began lecturing in sound recording at Kingston University where he split his time between teaching degree students on the Music MA course and Diploma students at the Gateway School of Recording. During his time at Kingston he also devised and ran courses for Music Technology teachers designed to help improve the delivery of this diverse subject.
Dave first became involved with Hurtwood in 1997 and 1999 saw him joining the staff as Head of Music. In 1998 Edexcel invited Dave to join the writing team for the new specification for A Level Music Technology which was introduced nationally in 2000.
He has subsequently been involved in the syllabus update for 2008.
Dave continues to bring his love of and passion for music and sound to his teaching,
