Emily's career has gone from strength to strength since she left Hurtwood in 2001. She was signed up with agent Ken Mcreddie after we invited him to see her in a show written by another ex-student, Paul Sellar (Hurtwood 1986).
Within months she was sharing the stage with Dame Judi Dench in The Royal Family, directed by Trevor Nunn, before breaking into film with her role as Tamsin in the 2004 British movie My Summer of Love, for which she shared an Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer with co-star Nathalie Press.
In 2005 she co-starred with Bill Nighy and Miranda Richardson in the British TV drama Gideon's Daughter, and went on to star opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the box-office success The Devil Wears Prada, for which she earned a BAFTA nomination.
Her career continues with a Golden Globe for Gideon's Daughter, the title role in Young Victoria, The Sunshine Cleaning, the re-make of 'The Wolfman' starring alongside Benecio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins, and many more films in the pipeline.
