Hugo Ellis (Theatre Staff)

SADLY HUGO PASSED AWAY IN THE SUMMER OF 2011
Hugo trained at Rose Bruford before working in professional theatre, appearing in plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Stoppard, and in a range of musicals. During this time he also founded his own fringe theatre group in Notting Hill with notable productions of Romeo & Juliet and Twelfth Night. Following his marriage to Rachel, a professional violinist, Hugo joined the theatre department at Hurtwood and while here has staged major productions including The Passion by Tony Harrison, Twelfth Night, Oedipus the King and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hugo now divides his time between teaching at Hurtwood and running a community theatre project in Horsham where he writes, directs and acts. He has two children, Charlotte and Katy.
