Upon leaving Hurtwood Jon initially came right back to work as a media technician, “re-earning my Grandparents money, and gathering more nous in the world of creative media!”
After leaving to chase a career in broadcasting, which actually led to managing a produce department at Tesco's, he decided that having exhausted radio stations in the UK to gain an avenue in the industry it was time to try somewhere else. He headed to Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. As luck would have it a position was available at Modern Rock station The Zone @913. After a trial period he gained the role of Evening/Weekends DJ & also has a week day segment at three called “Tea Time” (a look into the world of rock back in the UK).
He has interviewed the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Ed Sheeran, Cake, The Flaming Lips, Reggie Watts, Band Of Skulls & many more. His podcasts have also been voted amongst the best of comedy on Mixcloud. This sits him alongside such radio legends as Chris Moyles, Chris Evans & Dave Gorman. Recently he has also become the first evening/weekend DJ to get the Zone the #1 spot in that day part in its eleven year existence.
