Luke left Hurtwood and went straight into the business. His big break was playing the young lead role of Matt in 1960s musical The Fantasticks, directed by Amon Miyamoto in the West End Duchess Theatre which led to the role of Jesus in Rufus Norris' acclaimed production of Vernon God Little at the Young Vic. The production gained great reviews, with a five star rating from Paul Taylor in The Independent who described how Luke sang "hauntingly".
Other credits include Nightfall at the Edinburgh Festival, Joey in Tarantula, Petrol Blue at Alderbugh Music in Suffolk, and most recently the part of Anthony in Sondheim's Sweeney Todd in the Chichester Festival Theatre West End transfer, performing alongside Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton.
