Miles has been the Artistic Director at Hurtwood House since 2001. He also works in professional theatre as a musical director, composer, actor and musician. He had a previous spell at Hurtwood as Head of Music too.
As an actor and musical director his professional credits include the West End runs of Return to the Forbidden Planet and Song of Singapore, the Watermill Arts Centre`s Beauty and the Beast, Buster Theatre`s production of Lipstick Tango for which he received a London Fringe award nomination, (the show itself winning the ensemble award), and Strangeface's production of The Last Resort which toured to Iran and won the Tehran International Puppet Festival's Best in Show award.
Miles Studied Music and Performance Art at Middlesex University and most recently has been exploring the word of clowning, studying with Phillipe Gaulier in Paris, Desmond Jones in London and Joe Diffenbacher from the Del`Arte school in California. He plays Trumpet, Keyboards, Accordion, Bass and Percussion amongst other instruments!
