Neil Fisher (Visiting Dance Tutor)

Neil has been visting Hurtwood since 1996, teaching and choreographing for the Hurtwood Dance Companies and for Musical Theatre productions. He danced with Lynx Dance, Diversions Dance Company and for 10 years co-ran his own company Tacit Dance Theatre which received a Digital Dance Award for the Other Telling.
He recently danced with Collision Dance for the Liverpool European City of Culture ’08. Neil has been commissioned for many companies and performance events and is a creative member of the Young Pleasance team which takes music/theatre events to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He created In So Far for students at Hurtwood, which was re-staged by Bread Dance Theatre and subsequently toured Britain. His background is in contemporary dance and choreography and he received his MA Performance Arts from Middlesex University. Neil was until recently a senior lecturer at LIPA. He is now freelance.
