Tanroh can claim more than 400 performances in both Noh and Kyogen theatre at The National Noh Theatre, The National Theatre, Japan, and on tours of the USA and Europe. He also performed in Kyogen Of Errors at Shakespeare's Globe.
After leaving Hurtwood in 2006 Hurtwood drama teachers helped him devise a one man show Kyogen - Raw and Uncooked which performed very successfully at the Edinburgh Fringe 2006.
Tanroh then studied theatre at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where he became their first ever Japanese graduate. While there he was picked to work with Peter Brook, Complicite and with Roberto Romei on The Game of Truth at Prima del Teatro.
He is also a Japanese Movement Consultant, working recently on a Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Jonathan Man at the Southwark Playhouse.
Other credits include Shogun's Total War2 (video game), 47Ronin with Keanu Reeves, and the Cohen Brothers' film Gambit with Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci, directed by Michael Hoffman.
Tanroh runs his own successful theatre company "Tea Leaf Theatre" and is also one of the founders of The Improsarios.
